Why “just staying calm” doesn’t work and actually sets us up to fail 

When emotions run high, your stress response and nervous system takes over. The stress hijacks your thinking brain, and all the ‘perfect scripts’ and calm parenting plans disappear.

You’re not broken - it’s just how our body works. What you truly need isn’t ‘perfect calm’.

You need regulation - the ability to notice your state early and use simple, powerful tools to shift back towards safety and connection, even in the messy, button-pushing moments.

Our children learn regulation through a process called co-regulation. They can only develop emotional safety when they feel it in the presence of a grounded adult.

We were never taught these skills ourselves yet we’re trying to teach them to our kids, which means we have to practice and model regulation while we guide them.

When you’re more regulated, your body signals I’m safe. Your thinking brain returns, you become less reactive, more responsive. Your child’s nervous system senses the safety and calm within you and learns to settle and feel safe too. This is how resilience and healthy emotion regulation is wired and built. It starts with us. And no, it’s NEVER EVER too late.

The more you expand your capacity and release your own stress, the more you can hold space when your child brings you their biggest feelings.

This is not another parenting course

This is a live, 8-week nervous system reset and regulation program.

It’s fully experiential - by this I mean you won’t just learn about regulation, you’ll feel it, practice it, and re-wire your own nervous system and stress responses in real time.

No scripts to memorise (and forget), no extra “homework” to pile onto your already full plate, just practical tools you’ll embody as you go.

You won’t be held to unattainable standards of perfection. 

This is a dedicated space where you come for 60 minutes a week to experience real nervous system regulation and learn tools you can use easily throughout your day and in the messy moments. 

We’ll be using breathwork, movement, and other somatic techniques to re-wire your nervous system for true calm, allowing you the space to be the grounded, compassionate parent your kids need.

Week 1 - Understanding Your Nervous System

Discover how your unique stress patterns show up in daily parenting and begin widening your “window of tolerance” for more space, steadiness and calm.

Week 2 - Parenting Triggers

Unpack the science behind your triggers, why you react the way you do (without shame) and strategies to heal these parts of you.

Week 3 - Regulation & Co-Regulation

Create a personal regulation toolkit and practice the body-based cues that help you and your child return to safety and connection in real time.

Week 4 - Anchor & Repair

Build internal anchors and master the art of healthy repair with yourself, and with your child, turning ruptures into golden opportunities that deepen trust and strengthens your relationship.

Week 5 - Regulation In The Heat of It All

Master fast, practical resets to interrupt reactive spirals and stay grounded, even during the most heated moments.

Week 6 - Boundaries That Protect Your Peace

Set and hold boundaries that preserve capacity, prevent burnout, and model healthy emotion regulation skills without guilt.

Week 7 - Emotional Safety & Expression

Develop the courage and skills to feel, name, and release big emotions so you and your children can progress feelings instead of avoiding or suppressing them.

Week 8 - Rhythm, Resilience & Joy

Integrate everything you’ve learnt, establish a sustainable daily rhythm, and celebrate the presence and joy you’ve created - from the inside out.

In 8 weeks, you’ll be able to:

Respond to meltdowns, defiance and sibling clashes without yelling or shutting down.

Recognise your stress patterns early and use simple tools to shift your emotional state in the moment.

Build a personal toolkit of micro-practices you can easily use every day, even in the busiest seasons of family life.

Repair with compassion with your child and yourself because every healthy relationship includes ruptures and repairs.

Shift the emotional tone of your home by regulating your own nervous system.

Regulation is contagious

Being in the presence of a regulated adult is what wires our children to feel safe.

Safe to feel, safe to express their emotions healthily, safe to take risks and learn, safe to connect, rather than shut down or push away how they feel.

It starts with us! We have to embody this sense of safety and regulation within us, in order for our children to feel it, trust us, and in turn develop these skills for themselves.

The more you are able to widen your window of tolerance and release your own emotional energy up and out in healthy ways- the more you are able to hold, when your children bring you their BIG feelings and difficult experiences they WILL encounter throughout life. 

One grounded parent can shift the entire emotional tone and dynamic of the whole family.

I'm a Clinical Psychologist, parenting coach, and (imperfect) mum of three.
